Sustainability is key to our DNA, our menus, suppliers & our teams continue to challenge our working practices and review opportunities to ensure we are doing as much as we can to reduce our impact on the environment or give back.
SOKO ROOFTOP | ONE TREE PLANTED
SOKO Rooftop is proud to share our global collaboration for reforestation alongside One Tree Planted, a not-for-profit organisation focused on global reforestation to save our beloved Amazon Rainforest. For every Akuma Jungle cocktail purchase, we plant a tree. One Tree Planted have planted over 40 million trees in more than 47 countries across the globe since 2014 and in 2021, they more than doubled their impact from 2020 – with 23.5 million trees.
CARMEN TEQUILERIA | ZERO WASTE
Carmen’s mission to create a cocktail menu that is as close to zero-waste as possible and our dedication to sustainability has led us to embrace different techniques. From this we can reduce our reliance on energy intensive food production methods as well as transport in turn reducing our overall carbon footprint. To support our efforts, we are dedicated to exploring new techniques for upcycling ingredients, with the goal of achieving 100% zero-waste.
CLAW BBQ | REEF PROJECT
CLAW BBQ have joined forces with Ballistic Beer Co., who have introduced an exclusive range of Reef beers in the picturesque region of Queensland. These beverages are specifically crafted to complement the balmy coastal climate of Queensland. The Reef Lager and Reef Pale Ale were unveiled at Ballistic Whitsundays, where ten cents from each can sold will be contributed to the local Airlie Beach charity, Eco Barge Clean Seas (EBCS).
LINA ROOFTOP | ECO SPIRITS
LINA Rooftop has formed a partnership with ecoSPIRITS, an innovative technology company championing a circular economy approach. Their groundbreaking technology represents the world’s first solution for distributing premium spirits and wine with minimal carbon emissions and waste. With a patented closed-loop system, they’ve achieved nearly total elimination of packaging waste within the supply chain. By significantly reducing packaging and transportation, ecoSPIRITS not only delivers substantial cost benefits but also brings about a remarkable reduction in carbon footprint.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
All of our venues segregate waste into food, glass, metals, paper and cardboard. Soko Rooftop is currently testing a new practice of weighing and recording wastage with the aim of discovering ways to minimise or repurpose our waste materials.
FILTERED WATER
Through our collaboration with Pureeza at all of our venues, we provide filtered water in reusable glass bottles as a sustainable alternative to single-use plastics, aiming to minimise waste generation.
RECYCLED KITCHEN OILS
Each venue has their oil collected, which is subsequently processed to remove water and solids at our partner’s Cookers Oil depot. After this, the oil is forwarded for recycling, where it can be repurposed in various industries, including biodiesel production.
